General FAQs

Go to Technical Facts.

1. What is LifeChurch.tv Network? LifeChurch.tv Network is a global network of churches that are strategically partnered with LifeChurch.tv to reach more people to become fully devoted followers of Christ. LifeChurch.tv Network churches consistently use our video teaching messages in one or more of their weekly services or experiences. Promotional resources are also made available in advance of the targeted messages/series. All of the resources are free.

2. How does LifeChurch.tv Network work? Your local church continues to exist as it is today (leadership, governance, finances, decision-making, etc.), except that you use LifeChurch.tv teaching messages into one or more of your weekly services through DVD download. Promotional artwork and outline materials are made available prior to the delivery of the message or can be downloaded through LifeChurch.tv Open (older series). Network churches have the flexibility to choose from over 200 past messages through LifeChurch.tv Open, or they can be aligned with us through a special login to access the resources associated with our current series.

3. What responsibilities do LifeChurch.tv Network churches have to LifeChurch.tv and vice versa? In general, we want to make this process easy for you. Each week, you will be asked to inform us (by e-mail or through an online portal) of the message you are using, your weekly attendance, number of salvations, anecdotal stories, and any technical problems/concerns you might have experienced. We also ask that you agree to join and participate in our online community with other Network church leaders. On the other hand, LifeChurch.tv has a responsibility to provide you with the resources to deliver an effective weekend message – teaching message, promotional resources, etc. – and to efficiently respond to questions and problems that you might have about our resources each week. We also strive to keep you informed of upcoming series and events and to encourage a sense of belonging through our online community.

4. What types of resources will be made available to our church if we become a LifeChurch.tv Network church? The content includes, but is not limited to, weekly video messages (available through DVD download), artwork, themed videos that are used to promote and brand a series (provided in full resolution), message outlines, and layered graphic files.

5. Are there any costs involved to join LifeChurch.tv Network? No. There are no dues or fees or any financial exchange of money with LifeChurch.tv. We believe that our resources are God’s resources to freely share with other churches that embrace a common vision. Local churches do incur the costs of equipment required to broadcast the weekly video message (DVD burner, projectors, etc).

6. Why is LifeChurch.tv making this available for free? We are passionate about changed lives and believe that LifeChurch.tv Network provides an exciting and unique opportunity to churches worldwide that want creative resources and the flexibility to deliver these resources to people in their communities. Ultimately, these resources are God's resources; we are simply the vehicle to host them and to subsequently share with others.

7. What are some of the advantages of becoming a LifeChurch.tv Network church? You’ll have free access to creative resources, full autonomy to do ministry at the local level, flexibility to design weekly services around the video message, more time and focus to reach non-believers in local communities, and connection with LifeChurch.tv staff and other church leaders that have embraced a common vision.

8. Am I able to use the LifeChurch.tv Network name? Yes. Network churches use the tag line, "a part of the LifeChurch.tv Network" when promoting a service or services in which the video message is broadcast (e.g., "Your Church Name, a part of the LifeChurch.tv Network").

9. What if I don’t want to use the LifeChurch.tv Network name and/or don’t want to follow the same video sequence as the LifeChurch.tv campuses? Instead of joining LifeChurch.tv Network, you might consider LifeChurch.tv Open as an alternative option. With LifeChurch.tv Open, there is no LifeChurch.tv name associated with the use of the materials and churches can pick and choose only those messages or resources that are relevant to their church. Want to teach your own message, but need a graphic or illustration video to supplement the teaching? Want to occasionally show a video teaching message from LifeChurch.tv? Then, LifeChurch.tv Open is probably a better option for you.

10. What if we are not happy with the relationship and want to stop participating as a LifeChurch.tv Network church? No problem. This is a voluntary relationship which allows LifeChurch.tv Network churches or LifeChurch.tv to end the relationship at any time for any reason.

11. What is the difference between LifeChurch.tv Open, LifeChurch.tv Network, and LifeChurch.tv United? LifeChurch.tv Open offers free creative materials to pastors and churches worldwide, with no association by name to LifeChurch.tv or its resources. LifeChurch.tv Network also offers free creative materials to pastors and churches worldwide. Network churches are autonomous in all areas of ministry, but use a LifeChurch.tv video teaching message in at least one of their services each week. LifeChurch.tv Network churches also use the tag line, "a part of the LifeChurch.tv Network" in the promotion and delivery of the weekly message. LifeChurch.tv United offers churches worldwide the opportunity to connect to and become a LifeChurch.tv campus. Through United, churches fall under our vision of "One Church in Multiple Locations." Thus, United churches are fully aligned, governed, and led by LifeChurch.tv leadership.

Technical FAQs

1. What file formats are the resources available in? It depends on the resource. Graphic files are usually available in a TIFF file at a print resolution. Many of these files can be blown up to a larger size if needed. Some of the graphic files are available as a layered Photoshop (.PSD) or an Illustrator (.AI) or a PostScript (.EPS) file. All of our video files are currently available as a Quicktime (.MOV) file using the DV codec or for international uses a DV-PAL format. Our message outlines are all available in Microsoft Word (.DOC) format.

2. How can I play back the videos at my church? Most presentation software (Mediashout, SongShow, ProPresenter, Powerpoint, etc.) should playback the Quicktime (.MOV) you download without any trouble. If you need to change the format of the file to something else (MPEG2, MPEG4, etc) you can do so in a video editor that supports Quicktime like Apple's Final Cut Pro or you can purchase Quicktime Pro for around $30.

3. Why do the Quicktime files look jagged and low resolution when played in Quicktime? There is a "High Quality" setting in Quicktime that must be enabled. Apple has documented this on their support site.

4. Can you make the resources available in other formats (i.e., mpeg2, mpeg4, avi)? Not right now. We have tried to make the content available in formats that would allow you the ability to convert it into other formats later. If there is a particular format that would be more useful for a broad group of people, we will consider making it available. Just let us know. Please note this is only referring to formats that can be downloaded. We cannot make the content available on different types of media.

5. How long will it take to download a video file on a 56k modem? A LOOONG time! Plan ahead, Sunday morning is too late. We have tried to make the files as small as possible, but they are still large to allow you the most flexibility.

6. How do I download complete message file to a DVD? To burn the image directly to a DVD, you will need to install third party software that is capable of understanding and burning image (img or iso) files. Most popular DVD burning software include support for burning images. If you do not currently own any commerical software that supports this function (e.g. Nero, Roxio), then you can download a freeware program that will burn the DVD image to disc. Please consult the vendor-specific documentation for further assistance in burning the image to disc.

7. All of these files are (.ZIP) files. How do I open those? In Windows XP or later, you should be able to open them by simply clicking on them. The same should be true by default in Mac OSX. In older operating systems, you might need to download a program like WinZip.
